Greetings 3rd graders & families,

I am looking forward to getting to know all my new students as we begin the 2016 school year at CES!  It is going to be a very challenging, and fun year for all of us in Math & Science!

Let me tell you about myself.   I was born and raised in Maryville, TN.   At 19, I joined the U.S. Air Force, and served as an aircraft maintenance technician for 20 years. I just had to come back to beautiful East Tennessee, and decided to return to school so that I could spend my days with the best people ever…3rd graders! This will be my 9th year teaching here at CES, and Ms. Wright and I are looking forward to helping each of you have a wonderful year!

I live in Clinton with my husband, Ken, who  teaches 5th grade at Andersonville Elementary, and my amazing dogs, Junebug and Murphy.   You will hear lots about those two as the year goes along…they are often the subject of math word problems, and examples in class!  I love reading, fishing & cheering on the Vols!  Did I mention I love to fish?   I cannot wait to hear about things you like to do outside of school!

We have lots to learn this year, and I hope that you will let me know anytime you need extra help; I am always available to help with a little extra practice! Speaking of practice, math requires a lot of that, so get ready. Just like when you play sports, your brain needs practice to improve and learn new things! I am looking forward to working with each one of you and know that we will have a GREAT year!
