Welcome to our website!  I am Jill Whitaker.   I am excited to start back to school and get to know my students!  I hope you feel the same way.

I became a teacher because I love working with young people, like you, and I wanted a job where I could play on the swings every now and then.   I live here in Clinton with my two children, Sam and Sophie.  Sam is almost 17 years old and a junior in high school. Sophie just turned 15 years old and is a sophomore in high school.  We also have a dog named Luna.

This is my thirty-first year of teaching (I started teaching at 10, LOL).  I taught Kindergarten two years at North Clinton.  I taught First Grade at South Clinton for nineteen years. I then worked at Clinton, South Clinton, and North Clinton for four years in reading and math intervention.  This is my sixth year back in first grade and I am having a blast.

I went to Carson-Newman College to become a teacher.  Then, I went to Tennessee Tech to get my masters degree.  I later attended several courses to become a reading interventionist.
