Jill Whitaker
Hello! I am Jill Whitaker. I am excited to start back to school and get to know my students! I hope you feel the same way.
This is my thirty-fourth year of teaching. I taught Kindergarten for two years at North Clinton. I taught First Grade at South Clinton for nineteen years. I then worked at Clinton, South Clinton, and North Clinton for four years in reading and math intervention. This is my ninth year back in first grade and I am having a blast.
I became a teacher because I love working with young people, like you, and I wanted a job where I could play on the swings every now and then. I went to Carson-Newman College to become a teacher. Then, I went to Tennessee Tech to get my masters degree. I later attended several courses to become a reading interventionist. I live here in Clinton with my two children, Sam and Sophie. Sam is a sophomore at Tennessee Tech. Sophie is a freshman at the University of Tennessee. We also have two dogs named Luna and Remy and a cat named Daisy.
