Matthew Case
Hello everyone! My name is Matthew Case and I am the music teacher for Kindergarten-6th grade at Clinton Elementary. I am also the 6th grade band director for Clinton Elementary and South Clinton Elementary. I have been very fortunate to be with Clinton City Schools since December of 2015. I'm originally from Jefferson City, TN where I graduated from Jefferson County High School in 2007 and from Carson-Newman College in 2012 with a Music Education degree.
I am happily married to my wife Emily, who is a Librarian in Knox County and we have a daughter who likes to keep us on our toes! We're a home of three humans, four cats (Link, Zelda, Penny, and Schuyler), and a brand new bearded dragon named Reptar. When I'm not playing my trumpet or ukulele, I enjoy playing video games, attending professional wrestling shows, and watching college football.
My musical journey started with me on trumpet way back in 5th grade - the enjoyment I've had making music since I was young has given me everything important in my life. My hope is to share the basic concepts of music so that your children can achieve an understanding and appreciation of their own musical journeys, whether it's performance based, listening to a song on the radio, or singing Happy Birthday at a party.
Please feel free to reach out @ casem@clintonschools.org if you have any questions.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to teach your child!
